About tête

tête is a project space run as a timeshare in Berlin.

tête is located in one of the last unrenovated shops in Prenzlauer Berg. tête is run by a changing group of 10 international artists on the basis of a timeshare since 2012. Each member curates their project in the space autonomously from the group. External artists and artist groups are also welcome to make use of the venue. tête is characterized by a great diversity of exhibitions, concerts and workshops, sometimes resulting in opposing curatorial formulas.

Over the past 8 years, there have been more than 300 events at tête including exhibitions, installations, performances, concerts, talks, food and others, with more than 1000 artists, musicians, performers, thinkers, speakers, cooks, and curators from the international arts community of Berlin and abroad. Diversity and contradiction are at the core of our project.

Sadly, in July 2023, tête had to surrender to capitalism – like so many other great project spaces in Berlin.
